2 Rotational NCS, UWS, 1 Child, 4-month contract

2 Rotational Newborn Care Specialists are sought for a 4-month contract on the Upper West Side, NYC as parents welcome their first baby home in May 2026!

The Schedule:

  • Start Date: On or around May 7th, 2026- Week 1, following the birth, you’ll fly out to join the parents in the Southwest as they prepare to bring baby home to NYC.
  • Duration: 4 months, 6 days/week (Saturdays off)
  • Schedule Options: week on / week off (6 days x 19 hr. shifts with 5-hour rest periods) OR 6 x 12hr overnight shifts (Rota 1) & 6 x 12hr daytime shifts (Rota 2).
  • All shifts will run Sunday through Friday with Saturdays off. The first few weeks may require a 7-day weekly rotation.

The Family:

  • We’re a friendly, easy-going, warm couple living on the Upper West Side and eagerly preparing for our first baby.
  • The birth will take place in the Southwestern US. We anticipate being there for approximately one week following the birth which is where you’ll join us for about a week before flying home with us to NYC.
  • We are self-employed with flexible schedules; Mom primarily works from home and Dad from an office in the same building.
  • No pets. We are a shoe-free home, and we have no additional travel anticipated beyond the first week.

The Role:

  • With the support of a Rota team, we look forward to collaborating while we adjust to family life and bond with our baby. Your expertise will be invaluable to us as new parents and we look forward to a friendly and empowering relationship as you help set us up for success.
  • Together, you’ll oversee all aspects of infant care, nursery stock items, tasks and organization, and laundering of baby clothes and linens. Childcare will encompass all baby related tasks from bottles to bathing and swaddles to soothing. As baby shows signs of readiness we’ll work with you to build and maintain good routines and patterns. We’ll appreciate your help with general maintenance of any commonly used areas as time allows, and you’ll each be responsible for your bed linen changes and bathroom maintenance as you exchange shifts. A housekeeper provides deep cleaning.
  • We value your guidance, reassurance, and collaborative communication as we learn our infant’s rhythms together.
  • We are not driven to sleep train during your contract and are seeking responsive, affectionate, infant-led care, following baby’s cues.

You:

  • Extensive newborn experience with a calm, friendly, supportive, and adaptable caregiving style.
  • Kind, encouraging, and respectful, with the confidence to work independently, while partnering closely with parents and collaborating with your Rota partner to ensure smooth transitions and consistency.
  • Up-to-date vaccinations and current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.

The Pay:

  • $45–$55 per hour- W2 or LLC
  • Meal stipend provided for longer (19 hr.) shifts
  • OMNY pass provided
  • Contract position; additional terms to be discussed directly with the family
