2 year old preschool Assistant Teacher

We are seeking an Assistant Teacher for our 2-year-old class at First Cary's Weekday Preschool - Methodist Children's Center (MCC). 10-12 hours per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM. This is a short-term position to begin as soon as possible through May 27, 2026. The ideal candidate will work together with the lead teacher in providing a nurturing, faith-based environment that fosters children's growth and learning. The applicant must be energetic, creative, warm, nurturing and be able to lift up to 40 pounds easily. This individual should be organized and have the ability to multitask while working with the children in the classroom. This individual should follow our play-based and developmental learning approach, while adhering to the mission and vision of our program:

Through developmentally engaging activities and experiences, children will grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically, and spiritually. We nurture each child’s individuality and creativity, while supporting their unique growth with empathy and grace.

Some teaching experience is preferred. Some responsibilities include:

- Develop and lead engaging and creative play-based learning experiences for young children in a nurturing Christian environment

- implement age-appropriate curriculum

- foster social/ emotional development

- collaborate with other teachers to enhance the overall classroom experience

- create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere

Teachers are required to complete a First aid and CPR class every other year, paid for by MCC. The teacher must submit to and pass a criminal background check and a TB test prior to beginning the job. Pay is dependent upon experience.

Schedule: Part-Time -Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 9:00am-12:30pm - plus 1-2 hours for Teacher Meetings and planning per month
