General Description:

The Barstow School is a co-educational school where students in preschool through twelfth grade develop in a challenging educational community. The Barstow school seeks a skilled, creative, and collaborative educator to join our Fine Arts Faculty. This position will focus on instruction in drawing, painting, and Art Fundamentals for students in grades 6-12.

Essential Job Functions:

• Evidence of knowledge and experience in art education for adolescents
• Demonstrated technical skill in 2-D art, painting, and drawing
• Experience teaching middle and high school students
• Demonstrated understanding of current teaching pedagogies and adolescent development
• Exercises flexibility in both implementing best learning practices and pursuing success for each student
• Enjoy collaborating with colleagues within and across subject areas
• Willingness to invest in the community and participate in the lives of our students outside of the classroom
• Be self-reflective, able to work independently, and committed to professional growth

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor required, Master preferred.
