Essential Functions:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Intern to provide support to our management team excellent customer service to our patrons. The Intern assists the Creative Services Manager and Marketing & Promotions Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Marketing Department. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to maintain a neat, clean & professional appearance

Electronic and computer proficiency
Excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cleanliness
Strong communication and problem solving skills Duties:
Answering phones and communicating game progress
Assist in creating routines for promotional entertainment
Assisting the group sales department daily
Assisting with tarp pulls when necessary
Distribute promotional items designed to help increase fan spirit and attendance at games
Delivering pocket schedules
Hanging sponsor banners and preparing giveaway items
Interact with fans before, during and after the games
Keeping upbeat atmosphere before, during and after games
Occasional mascot/player appearances, participation in promotions including on-field activities and enter/exit gate sampling, and distribution of marketing material
Organizing special events such as sponsor picnics & batting practice, the golf tournament, etc
Perform as mascot in community events around the Birmingham region as scheduled
Perform on the dugout during the 7th inning stretch
Personally interact with fans and patrons you encounter
Preparing proof-of-performance packages for sponsors
Representing organization in the community
Running on-field promotions during games, including making sure mascots, props, costumes and power team are in the proper places at the proper time
Setting up concourse display tables
Qualifications:
- Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to problem solve quickly, work efficiently in an intense environment
Previous sports experience a plus, but not required
Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
Some heavy lifting is required
General Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand for up to 5+ hours during a game
Ability to work long hours, weekends & holidays
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including but not limited to rain and heat
