2026 Post Graduate Summer Internship - Venture Capital

The platform advises the Nclude Innovation Fund, a $110 million FinTech-focused fund and the largest of its kind in Africa. With a strong regional presence, DPI Venture Capital has representation in Cairo, Egypt and Lagos, Nigeria in addition to leveraging DPI's global network. We are now launching our inaugural Summer Internship Programme. The internship is a unique opportunity to learn how a VC fund operates from the inside, from deal sourcing and due diligence to portfolio management and fund operations.

Tasks

As a Post-Graduate Summer Intern, you will join the DPI Venture Capital team and work side by side with our investment and platform professionals on live deal activity, portfolio management, and fund operations. The programme begins with an intensive two-week training bootcamp (VC Academy) covering core venture capital disciplines, including valuations, financial modelling, due diligence methodology, term sheets and other topics. Following the bootcamp, you will apply what you have learned by contributing directly to active workstreams: conducting independent research, building financial models, evaluating startups, drafting investment memos, and presenting your findings to senior team members.

• Conducting market research on fintech and adjacent sectors across the Middle East and Africa
• Mapping startups, founders, market trends, business models, and competitive landscapes
• Supporting deal sourcing and pipeline development
• Preparing company summaries, screening notes, market maps, and internal investment materials
• Assisting with commercial and strategic due diligence on prospective investments
• Analyzing business models, growth drivers, unit economics, and market positioning
• Supporting portfolio and ecosystem-related initiatives where relevant
• Participating in internal discussions around venture themes, investment opportunities, and sector developments

Requirements

Candidate Profile:

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master's degree, MBA, or equivalent postgraduate programme in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related quantitative discipline
• Professional or academic background in one or more of: investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital, asset management, FinTech, startups/entrepreneurship, technology, or engineering
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; proficiency in Excel is expected
• Genuine passion for venture capital, FinTech, and technology-driven innovation, particularly in the Middle East & Africa
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and take ownership of projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesise complex information into clear, concise outputs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean team environment with high autonomy and direct exposure to senior leadership
