TITLE: Executive Director Operations
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred); or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required combination of knowledge, skills and abilities.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities operations, construction management, plant maintenance, or related fields. Demonstrated experience managing large-scale building operations, including construction, maintenance/repair, custodial services, and groundskeeping. Prior experience in a public sector, school district, or comparable organization preferred.

JOB GOAL: To affect a maintenance and plant operations program to protect the public investment in the school buildings, equipment and grounds through good management practices which promote economy, attractive schools, add years of use to buildings, and enhance the teaching and learning environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees and manages contracted service providers and partner companies to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with district standards.
Provides leadership in project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of major operational and facilities projects.
Employs and assigns employees and other maintenance personnel.
Supervises and evaluates the overall performance of employees with the assistance of the maintenance supervisors.
Assists in budget planning and fiscal matters related to plant operations.
Promotes planning and cooperation among plant operations personnel and others affecting the instructional environment.
Coordinates and manages the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA).
Acts as the LEA designee for the AHERA program.
Manages paved areas.
Manages turf care program for athletic facilities.
Coordinates with Physical Education Supervisor and Safety Officer on playground installations.
Works with the supervisor of custodial services in evaluation, providing in-service training and overall improvement of the custodial program.
Assists with new building programs by visiting job sites and coordinating between the Associate Superintendent, Auxiliary Services and Architects.
Assists in solving utility and utilization conflicts between building contractors and school personnel.
Attends monthly construction conferences as needed.
Inspects all phases of construction projects to assure plans and specifications are in compliance.
Attends and successfully completes all training activities as required to improve ability and knowledge in performance of work duties.
Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organization core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness.
Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform medium lifting exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to climb ladders and be capable of traveling through needed crawlspace areas.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
