Full-Time Logistician to serve as Installation Procurement & Inventory Specialist within the NSWC Procurement Team
Position Qualifications

Associate’s Degree and 4 - 6 years of Navy logistics / Procurement experience or no degree and 6 -8 years of experience.

Responsible for the complete lifecycle of materials procurement and inventory management for rapid deployment and installation projects.

Sourcing materials, leveraging logistics databases and authoritative sources to identify materials per project specifications, meticulously tracking inventory levels to balance availability with cost-effectiveness, diligently monitoring shipments to ensure timely arrival at designated locations, and fostering seamless communication among suppliers, logistics teams, and installation crews.

Provides weekly status reports on procurements and deliveries. Perform detailed research and validation using approved data sources and coordinate with SMEs and government personnel to ensure compliance with mission objectives, security, and confidentiality requirements.

Perform inventory, material inspections and submit material inspection receipts (MIRs) or coordinate Technical Receipt Inspection with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Ensure documentation for procurements is readily available, tracked, and processed (offsite receipts) within established processes and timelines. Inventories to be performed in warehouse or industrial spaces.

Provide documentation and create kit lists of material inventoried.

Monitor and track frustrated freight to ensure incoming material is either re-inducted or tested (by SMEs) and deemed ready-for-issue.

Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules to track logistics and ships activities and events to ensure the right materials are available at the right time, fully documented and ready for rapid or planned installations, utilizing tools like JIRA for intake, tracking, and recording lessons learned, thereby driving project efficiency and minimizing delays.

Support material inventories at offsite warehouses or industrial shipyards. This support may include traveling to the location to inventory and identify material shortages that need to be addressed in order to support installation required delivery dates.

Able to interface with Project Engineers, LogReps, Engineers, Technicians and Logisticians.

Must have strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat).

Have a valid driver’s license with own transportation.

Must be able to receive and maintain a security clearance.

Must be punctual, attention to detail, and take good notes.

Must be able to work under minimal supervision, perform and complete tasks with limited guidance.

Able to follow company policies and procedures.

Able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed reports.
Preferred Skills
-
Navy Logistics School and previous NAVSEA CM/Logistics experience.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to travel if/when required.
