Position Summary
Deer Creek School District is seeking a creative, organized, and self-motivated Athletics Content Coordinator to support the district's athletic programs through engaging digital storytelling. This role is responsible for capturing, creating, and publishing content that highlights student-athletes, teams, coaches, and the Deer Creek athletic community across multiple platforms. This is a part-time position, ideal for a freelance or aspiring sports videographer.
Key Responsibilities

Attend designated athletic events (evenings/weekends required) to capture photos, videos, and real-time content

Manage district athletic social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.) with scores, graphics and digital storytelling content

Create district athletic-related graphics, sport highlight videos and content to promote Deer Creek programs and athletes

Coordinate with coaches and athletic staff to plan and highlight key moments, milestones, and events, in partnership with Athletic Directors and Director of Communications

Maintain a consistent voice and brand aligned with Deer Creek Schools

Help manage athletics-related sections of the district website

Monitor engagement and provide insights to improve content performance

Write short-form content, including game recaps, athlete features, and promotional posts, as needed
Qualifications

Experience in social media management, communications, journalism, or related field preferred

Strong writing and storytelling skills

Photography and videography skills (sports experience a plus)

Familiarity with social media platforms and trends

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Strong organizational and communication skills

Flexible schedule with availability for evening and weekend events
Preferred Skills

Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools

Video editing (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut)

Understanding of high school athletics culture

Ability to capture action photography in fast-paced environments
Work Schedule

Approximately 20 hours per week, working a 210-day contract

Schedule varies based on athletic seasons and events, with one or two evenings a week and at least one workday in the office (between 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Compensation

Hourly rate commensurate with experience
