FLSA STATUS: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

Possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in education, or a combination of a Bachelor’s degree and significant relevant professional experience. Have at least four years of professional experience in education, including K–12 classroom teaching experience with evidence of high-progress student outcomes. Demonstrate proven success in leading and managing teams to achieve goals and overcome barriers. Exhibit expert knowledge of advanced teacher roles and instructional coaching models, instructional excellence, and data-driven decision-making. Possess exceptional communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

General knowledge of County and School Board policies, procedures, and standards regarding education. Experience in researching, collecting, and analyzing data to generate complex reports and recommendations. Ability to effectively express ideas orally and in writing, including making presentations to large groups. Ability to maintain complete and accurate records and use common office machines and software (word processing, spreadsheets). Demonstrated drive to set challenging goals (Achievement) and hold others accountable for performance (Monitoring and Directiveness). Deep belief that all students, regardless of circumstances, can learn at high levels (Belief in Learning Potential).


REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

JOB GOAL:

Lead district-wide efforts to reach more students with excellent educators by implementing advanced teacher roles and instructional coaching models with fidelity. Drive a culture of instructional excellence and tutoring to ensure high-growth learning for all students.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB:

Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, the Advanced Teacher Roles Coordinator is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and management of advanced teacher roles and instructional coaching models

across the district.

This leader manages design processes for district and school teams to ensure

consistency with advanced teacher roles and instructional coaching principles.

The Coordinator serves as a primary liaison between district departments—including HR, Communications, Finance, and Curriculum—and external partners to monitor progress and maintain high-quality outcomes.

By fostering a tutoring culture and advanced teaching roles, this position ensures all students have access to excellent instruction and support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicates the advanced teacher roles and instructional coaching vision and goals through collaborative, team-oriented design processes.

Ensures the district and individual schools adhere to advanced teacher roles and instructional coaching principles, which are strongly correlated with student growth.

Holds school leaders and educators accountable for meeting ambitious, measurable standards of academic achievement and instructional excellence.

Sets and maintains rigorous selection criteria for advanced roles to ensure a high-quality teaching corps.

Leads design sessions for teachers and district/school leaders, adjusting the process to meet local needs.

Coordinates across all departments to ensure that model implementation improves learning, prioritizing small-group teaching and tutoring.

Disseminates information about advanced teacher roles and instructional coaching models to internal and external stakeholders to promote and sustain the program.

Leads and coaches teachers and school leaders through the design and implementation of advanced roles.

Coordinates advanced teacher role and instructional coach development programs including current, new and aspiring advanced teacher role/instructional coach academies.

Facilitates training for staff that capitalizes on strengths and addresses development areas, ensuring alignment with district training.

Ensures that daily, job-embedded coaching for teachers in these roles is effective and consistent.

Provides support and resources to instructional coaches to ensure alignment and effectiveness of coaching practices across the district.

Establishes communication channels and standard protocols to bridge the gap between Multi-Classroom Leaders (MCLs) and instructional coaches, thereby improving instructional consistency and coherence.

Uses digital tools to gather, analyze, and communicate outcomes and fidelity of implementation.

Responds to data and feedback to remove barriers to success and improve district performance compared to national benchmarks.

Regularly visits schools to observe implementation and the quality of coaching in leadership roles.

Advocates for all students to have access to excellent teachers and teams that produce high-growth learning.

Builds and maintains positive relationships with advanced teacher roles, instructional coaches, educators and administrators.

Maximizes time and resources through effective organizational systems and relentlessly pursues solutions to persistent challenges.

Serves as a primary liaison between district departments—including HR, Communications, Finance, and Curriculum—and external partners to monitor progress and maintain high-quality outcomes.

Manages design processes for district and school teams to ensure consistency with advanced teacher roles and instructional coaching principles.

Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness

Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of sitting, light lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion

Must have auditory acuity to a level to hear telephone conversations, customer questions and concerns, and supervisor vocalized instructions

Must have visual acuity to read and analyze computer screen, documents, and correspondence

Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid driver’s license.
