2D Animator

We are seeking a talented 2D animator to join our team at IEMA Research & Development Private Limited

As a 2D animator, your primary objective will be to develop highly engaging, visually appealing, premium-quality animations for various educational projects. The ideal candidate is a creative artist passionate about design and storytelling.

Objectives of this role

• Conceptualizing and creating visually appealing 2D animation videos that align with the project’s artistic vision and objectives.

• Using animation software and tools to produce high-quality animations that meet the project’s specifications and deadlines.

• Collaborating with writers, designers, illustrators and other team members to develop storyboards and animation sequences.

• Edit short- and long-form videos for company’s YouTube channel

• Take charge of video ideation and creation

• Ensure videos meet the marketing team’s specifications and guidelines

• Revising and refining animations based on feedback from directors, clients and other stakeholders.

Your tasks

• Design and animate characters, backgrounds and scenes for digital content.

• Develop short animation videos (educational).

• Use software such as Adobe Animate or similar tools to create and edit 2D animations.

• Collaborate with the sound design team to synchronise audio with animations.

• Implement feedback and revisions to ensure the final animation meets quality and creative standards.

• Maintain organised files and documentation for all animation projects.

• Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and solutions.

• Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to enhance animation skills and knowledge continually.

Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• Degree/Diploma in animation, graphic design, fine arts or a related field; equivalent work experience is also considered.

• Demonstrable experience as a 2D Animator or in a similar role with a solid portfolio showcasing your animation skills.

• Experience in character design and storyboarding

• Understanding of animation principles, visual concepts, and storytelling techniques.

• Proficiency in 2D animation software and/or After Effects.

• Excellent understanding of animation principles, including timing, weight and motion.

• Strong drawing and illustration skills with a keen eye for detail, colour and composition.

• Ability to convey emotions, expressions and actions effectively through animation.

• An innovative, creative and artistic vision with the ability to think out of the box.

• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Knowledge of motion graphics and visual effects.

Knowledge of Adobe Premier Pro video editing

• Ability to adapt to different animation styles and project requirements.
