We’re looking for a 2D Motion Designer who loves creating lightweight, expressive, app-ready animations — not cinematic 3D films.

If you enjoy animating characters, icons, rewards, transitions, and micro-interactions for mobile apps, this role is for you.

What You’ll Work On

You will create 2D, app-friendly animations such as:

• Duolingo-style character reactions & expressions
• App micro-interactions and UI motion
• Onboarding animations & feature walkthroughs
• XP, streaks, badges, confetti, wins & feedback animations
• Educational concept animations (simple, visual, engaging)
• Marketing & social media motion assets (short, punchy loops)

All animations are designed to run smoothly inside mobile & web apps.

Key Responsibilities

• Animate 2D characters, icons, and illustrations using After Effects
• Bring static designs to life using clean motion, easing, and timing
• Export animations for Lottie (JSON) and other app-friendly formats
• Optimize animations for performance and file size
• Collaborate with product designers & developers to ensure animations feel natural inside the app
• Maintain consistency in animation style across the product
• Deliver frequent, small animations aligned with product releases

Must-Have Skills (Please Read Carefully)

✅ This is a 2D role. No 3D skills required.

Required:

• Strong expertise in Adobe After Effects
• Experience with 2D motion design for apps or products
• Comfortable animating characters, UI elements, icons & illustrations
• Understanding of easing, timing, anticipation, and playful motion
• Experience exporting animations for mobile or web apps

Highly Preferred:

• Lottie / Bodymovin (JSON) exports
• Illustration setup via Figma or Adobe Illustrator
• Experience animating loops, state-based animations, and feedback moments

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)

• Rive (interactive/state-based animations)
• Spline (lightweight 3D-style visuals, not cinematic 3D)
• Basic sound-motion sync
• Experience working with product teams or startups

What This Role Is NOT

(To reduce irrelevant applications)

• ❌ Not a 3D animation role
• ❌ No Maya, Blender, Cinema4D, Unreal, or VFX work
• ❌ No cinematic films or long videos

This role focuses on small, delightful, useful 2D animations inside an app.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 2+ years experience in 2D motion / product animation
• Has worked on apps, games, fintech, edtech, or SaaS products
• Enjoys iterating fast and shipping animations frequently
• Appreciates clarity, simplicity, and playful motion

A portfolio with Lottie, UI motion, or app animations is mandatory.
