Miller Canfield is seeking a part-time, hourly Staff Attorney to support our Real Estate practice, with a particular focus on renewable energy projects. This role is expected to average approximately 20 hours per week, with some week-to-week variation based on workflow and project needs.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced attorney looking for meaningful, sophisticated work in a flexible, part-time arrangement.
The Staff Attorney will work closely with attorneys in our Real Estate group and will assist with a wide range of transactional and project-related matters, including:
- Supporting renewable energy projects (including site development, leasing, and related agreements)
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising real estate documents
- Conducting due diligence, title and survey review, and closings
- Legal research and issue spotting related to real estate matters
- Other project-based support as needed
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Michigan preferred)
- Prior experience in real estate transactions; experience with renewable energy projects is a plus
- Strong drafting, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a larger team
- Flexibility to adjust hours as project demands fluctuate
