Duties

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy, math, science, and social studies, ensuring lessons are interactive and tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Facilitate classroom activities that promote active participation, critical thinking, and collaboration among students.
• Utilize various teaching methods including technology integration, hands-on activities, and differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparations, to inform instruction and provide targeted support.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively by applying positive behavior management strategies that foster a respectful and inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists in special education, speech therapists, and counselors to support students with diverse learning needs such as autism or early intervention requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents; communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress.
• Support early childhood development principles by creating nurturing spaces that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and independence.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to curriculum development, classroom management techniques, learning technology tools, and early childhood education best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; valid state teaching certification for elementary education.
• Proven experience working with children in a classroom setting, particularly at the 2nd-grade level.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
• Knowledge of curriculum development standards across core subjects including literacy education, math, science, and social studies.
• Experience with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and an inclusive environment.
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring methods to support student achievement.
• Ability to incorporate learning technology tools into daily instruction for enhanced engagement.

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
