2nd Shift Custodian - Plymouth High School

Position Description: Under supervision, direction and in cooperation with the head custodian, to be responsible for all custodial work in the school, including but not limited to; furniture, rooms, equipment and snow removal. Individual shall be motivated and willing to accept additional related work as required.

Position Requirements:

· Scrub, strip, mop, clean, wax, vacuum, and polish floors, walls, and ceilings in all areas, including but not limited to; classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, gymnasiums and cafeterias

· Dust, clean, polish furniture, and any other items in all areas, including but not limited to; classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias and outdoor spaces

· Replace towels and soap in dispensers

· Clean windows, woodwork, bathrooms, and fixtures.

· Perform outside work as required – sweeping and snow removal

· Ability to operate heavy equipment

· Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash

· Minor maintenance and repair of custodial equipment

· Minor maintenance of facilities such as ballasts and changing light bulbs

· Assist with mechanical equipment as directed

· Unload freight received

· Distribute supplies to custodial rooms, shops and classrooms as required

· Move furniture and equipment as directed

· May be responsible for securing building

· Responsible for testing of swimming pool, moving chlorine and be certified as a Pool Operator (District will provide)

· Ability to operate heating, ventilation, air conditioning and mechanicals on web control

· Ability to operate forklift, genie lift and scissors lift

· Ability to set up and climb ladders and scaffolding

· Ability to move risers for choral and band events; set-up and teardown for events (athletic & arts)

· All other duties as directed

Position Qualifications: (Successful candidate must)

· Positive work ethic

· Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and community members

· Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials and equipment required for custodial work

· Physical ability to perform custodial work including heavy lifting, manual tasks, standing or walking for long periods of time

· Must be comfortable with heights and performing tasks from lifts and ladders

· Ability to work independently and with a team

Valid driver's license

Salary: $17.28 - $23.17 Hours: 8 hours per day/Group I Year-Round

$0.50 shift differential for hours worked after 2:30pm
