Position Summary: Under general supervision, manages a board of drivers, processes messages from drivers, sends load and customer information to drivers; ensures drivers are aware of their current plan and pre-plans.

Essential Functions:

• Reviews pre-plans on each of their drivers to ensure they have the required amount of HOS, can meet any appointed times in the load and that the pre-plan won’t jeopardize the drivers home-time needs.

• Dispatches drivers; processes inbound messages from drivers and answers questions via the In-Cab messaging system. Sends pre-plan info, load plans, customer information, route suggestions, local directions and fuel solutions in a timely manner so drivers are well informed and can trip plan properly.

• Ensures ETA’s, PTA’s and RDO’s are always updated and accurate according to the drivers and or trucks needs.

• Notifies the Planners if a pre-plan won’t work or will no longer work for one of their drivers as soon as they recognize an issue.

• Emails the Planners if a driver on their board doesn’t have a pre-plan and is within 2 hours of their PTA time.

• Trains with other related departments as necessary according to company needs; participates in companywide training opportunities to improve self-learning and works to maintain mutual respect and professionalism with co-workers and management to sustain a positive team environment.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications: Experience in transportation, computer systems, satellite systems and innovative software experience all beneficial. Problem solving and good communications skills desirable.

Physical Qualifications: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Long periods of sitting and use of telephone and satellite systems required.
