Job Title

2nd Shift Yard Spotter / Forklift Mechanic

Schedule

2:00 PM – 10:30 PM | Monday–Friday

Occasional Saturdays as needed

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for safe and efficient yard spotting operations during second shift while also performing basic forklift and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate has experience operating yard spot trucks or semi tractors, demonstrates strong safety awareness, and has working mechanical knowledge to support equipment uptime.

Primary Responsibilities

Yard Spotting & Trailer Movement (Primary Duty)

Operate yard spot trucks to move trailers between docks and yard locations

Hook, unhook, and position trailers safely and accurately

Maintain awareness of pedestrians, equipment, and dock doors

Operate equipment in a safe, controlled environment

Forklift & Equipment Maintenance (Secondary Duty)

Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting on forklifts

Assist with electrical and hydraulic diagnostics

Conduct routine inspections and report repair needs

Warehouse Support

Support warehouse operations when requested

Assist other departments as needed

Maintain a positive attitude and strong teamwork approach

Qualifications

Experience operating yard spot trucks or semi tractors/trailers

Basic mechanical knowledge with forklifts or material handling equipment

Understanding of electrical systems and hydraulics

Reliable, self‑motivated, and safety‑driven

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Ability to work in extreme temperatures from 100°F to ‑20°F

Ability to remain alert for extended periods in active yard conditions

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
