2nd Shift Logistics Forklift Operator

Sark Wire is seeking a skilled, dependable, and safety-conscious 2nd Shift Logistics Forklift Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and organize materials throughout the warehouse and production areas while supporting shipping, receiving, and logistics operations.

Hours: 4 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The duties listed below are representative of the position but are not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Logistics and Material Handling

• Load and unload products during shipping and receiving operations.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
• Transport and organize raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production departments.
• Assist with preparing finished products for shipment.
• Properly secure products and materials inside shipment trailers.
• Support production and logistics operations by transporting materials, equipment, and finished goods as required.
• Prioritize logistics and shipping needs while assisting production during slower periods.

Forklift Operations

• Safely operate forklifts with capacities of 10,000 lbs. or greater.
• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
• Replace forklift propane cylinders as necessary while following all company safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of forklift usage and materials moved.

Warehouse Organization and Housekeeping

• Maintain organization of the empty reel storage area.
• Keep warehouse, loading dock, and surrounding work areas clean and orderly.
• Move trash and recyclable materials to designated outdoor receptacles daily.
• Organize reels, pallets, and miscellaneous materials near the dumpster area.
• Assist with general warehouse cleaning, organization, and housekeeping as needed.
• Ensure loading docks and warehouse access areas are secured at the end of shipping hours.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to established operating procedures.
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and maintenance needs promptly.
• Perform all assigned duties in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience operating forklifts with capacities of 10,000 lbs. or greater preferred.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and transport materials in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
