Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 2nd Shift Med Tech to join our healthcare team. This role provides vital support in delivering high-quality patient care within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical knowledge, excellent caregiving skills, and experience working with diverse populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized dementia or hospice care. Responsibilities
- Administer medications accurately following physician orders and HIPAA guidelines
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory impairments
- Support patients with tube feeding, catheter care, and other medical procedures as trained
- Document all patient interactions and medical information using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols
- Ensure a clean, safe environment for residents by adhering to infection control standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to promote optimal care outcomes
Qualifications
- Valid Med Tech certification or license for the state of employment
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in dementia/memory care is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is preferred
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to patient-centered care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team during evening shifts
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate medical documentation
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
