2nd Shift Spreader

Reports To: Cutting Supervisor

Employment Type: Full Time
Pay Rate: $18.55/hr
Position Overview: Measure and cut fabric at a sufficient pace to keep the cutter working continuously. Lay fabrics according to the marker info, and established spreading guidelines

Essential Job Functions:

• Process markers following priorities set on your inbox
• Gathering material from location or from material handler ( in the case of material handler absence)
• Measuring and preparing table for cutting
• Lifting rolls of material into cradle
• Set up machine with lengths and number of layers
• Follow all guidelines for equipment preventative maintenance
• Follow all safety guidelines in place
• Be able to identify good side vs bad side, material flaws, and different color shades of fabric
• Partner with the cutting operator to set up spreads to the cutting machine

Non-Essential Job Functions:

• Maintaining scrap bins
• Rotating stock materials
• Other duties as assigned

Training:

• On the job training; must be fast-paced

Qualifications:
Education & Certifications: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: 0 – 1 years in similar field
Key Competencies: Problem solving, positive attitude, teamwork, dependability, initiative, accurate

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for duration of shift, and able to lift heavy bundles up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Temperature-regulated plant environment.
