2nd Shift Team Lead

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team Lead to oversee daily operations, guide team members, and ensure the successful execution of projects and departmental goals. The Team Lead will act as a bridge between management and employees, providing direction, coaching, and support to drive performance and team success.

Location: Avon Lake (On-site)

Hours: M-F, 2:30 pm- 11:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve individual and collective goals. Demonstrating the ability to run the department in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure adherence to production schedules.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members, fostering skill development and crosstraining.
  • Monitor department operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency. Troubleshoot equipment issues and support the setup of machines and tools.
  • Review technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure work aligns with requirements.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices to reduce waste, increase productivity, and enforce 6S standards.
  • Provide daily/weekly production updates, including commitments that are at risk, present options to recover, and maintain accurate records of work completed. Ensuring that all employees accurately post their hours and perform required inspections.
  • Collaborate with various departments to resolve issues.
  • Conduct regular safety checks, maintain a clean, organized work environment, and enforce safety standards and company policies.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, CNC equipment, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problemsolving, organizational, and time management skills. Understanding of ontime delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Effective leadership, verbal communication skills, and teambuilding abilities.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including using an ERP system.
  • Ability to foster teamwork within the department and with other departments.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
  • Employees may be frequently required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may lift and/or move up to 45 pounds without help.
  • Walking and standing on the plant floor.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years in a leadership or supervisory role.
