Little Friends Preschool is seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Preschool Teacher to nurture and educate our 3- and 4-year-old children. The preschool is in session September - May. Hours are 8:00a.m. to Noonish. Candidate must be DCFS teacher qualified. In this vital role, you will create a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes curiosity, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills. Your leadership will inspire young learners to explore, discover, and thrive while ensuring their safety and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the early educational experiences of children during their most formative years.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic, age-appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori principles to foster holistic childhood development.
- Lead daily classroom activities, managing lesson plans that support individual learning styles and developmental needs.
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to create a positive, respectful environment conducive to learning and social interaction.
- Collaborate with families and colleagues to support each child's unique needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Monitor and assess children's progress through observations, standardized testing where appropriate, and documentation of developmental milestones.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining high standards of child welfare, safety, and cleanliness.
- Incorporate behavior management techniques that promote positive behavior and emotional regulation among preschoolers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children aged 3 to 4 years in a preschool or daycare setting.
- Strong background in early childhood education with knowledge of childhood development theories and practices.
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management tailored for preschool-aged children.
- Familiarity with special education strategies, early intervention programs, and literacy education methods.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Knowledge of Montessori methods is preferred; certification in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable. DCFS teacher qualified.
- Ability to manage classroom routines confidently while fostering a nurturing environment that supports child welfare. Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
