Job Title: 3D Animation Faculty

Location: Arena Animation – Kankurgachi, Kolkata
Type: Part-Time | On-site

About the Role

Arena Animation Kankurgachi is looking for a passionate and industry-ready 3D Animation Faculty who can train students in core animation principles and 3D production workflows.

The ideal candidate should combine strong animation fundamentals, software expertise, and mentoring skills to help students become industry-ready professionals for animation, gaming, VFX, and digital media careers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic & Training Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured classroom training in 3D Animation as per Arena’s curriculum.

Teach:

  • Principles of Animation (timing, spacing, squash & stretch, arcs, anticipation, etc.)
  • Character animation (body mechanics, acting, facial animation)
  • Basic rigging and animation workflows

Conduct practical sessions on industry-standard software such as:

  • Autodesk Maya (mandatory)
  • Blender (preferred)
  • Guide students through assignments, projects, and portfolio development.
  • Ensure syllabus completion within timelines.

2. Project & Portfolio Development

  • Mentor students in building strong demo reels.
  • Provide constructive feedback on animation quality and improvement areas.
  • Guide students on industry standards and studio pipelines.
  • Prepare students for competitions like Creative Minds and internal evaluations.

3. Academic Monitoring & Discipline

  • Conduct regular assessments and performance reviews.
  • Track student attendance and progress.
  • Maintain academic documentation and evaluation reports.
  • Coordinate with the Academic Head for batch planning and project reviews.

4. Industry & Skill Upgradation

  • Stay updated with current animation trends and tools.
  • Introduce students to industry workflows and best practices.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, and center events.

Required SkillsTechnical Skills

  • Strong understanding of Animation Principles (12 Principles mandatory knowledge)
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Maya (Animation tools, Graph Editor, Rig handling)
  • Basic knowledge of rigging and animation-friendly modelling
  • Understanding of camera animation and storytelling
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine animation pipeline (added advantage)

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Patience and passion for mentoring students
  • Ability to simplify complex animation concepts
  • Professional and disciplined approach

Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma / Degree in Animation, Multimedia, or Fine Arts
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience (Teaching or Production)
  • Studio experience in animation projects is preferred
