3D Animation Film Editor – Mastering Pacing and Cinematic Scale

The Challenge: Edit the Next Global Indian Epic

We are searching for an intensely driven and technically sharp Film Editor ready to achieve a career-defining milestone. If you have been formally trained in film editing and possess a deep, almost obsessive understanding of cinematic rhythm, we offer you the chance to sculpt our ambitious 3D animated feature.

We demand the rich, large-scale visual vocabulary seen in blockbusters like KGF, the thematic pacing of Kantara, and the stunning visual flow required for top-tier animation. This is an opportunity to prove your mastery in crafting a world-class final product that will challenge industry veterans and flabbergast international film festival audiences.

Core Mandate: Rhythm, Scale, and World-Class Flow

The Editor's primary function is to transform raw animation into a pulse-pounding, emotionally coherent, and technically flawless film that adheres to global theatrical standards.

  • Pacing and Narrative Drive: Establish the definitive tempo and rhythm of the film, ensuring that high-stakes action sequences (e.g., the intensity of a Narasimha-esque transformation) land with maximum impact, while emotional scenes breathe and resonate.
  • Visual Continuity in 3D: Seamlessly join intricate 3D animated shots, maintaining flawless continuity in performance, perspective, and eyelines. Your editing must create the illusion of a single, coherent reality, regardless of the complexity of the VFX.
  • Sound and Music Synchronization: Work in lock-step with the Composer and Sound Designer to integrate the world-class score and sound effects (SFX). The final edit must serve as the absolute backbone for music cues, ensuring every "hit-point" and emotional transition is perfectly timed to create a visceral, memorable audience experience.
  • Pre-visualization and Editorial Workflow: Utilize animation workflow edits (Animatics/Pre-vis) to explore scene flow early and make substantial structural changes efficiently, minimizing expensive re-animation.
  • Color and Visual Consistency: Work with the final picture to ensure consistency in color, grading, and visual quality throughout the film's runtime, delivering a theatrical-grade Digital Cinema Package (DCP).

Technical Mastery and Workflow

We require an editor who is technically self-sufficient and fluent in post-production pipelines.

  • NLE Proficiency (Non-Linear Editing): Expert, fast-paced command of industry-standard NLE software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, or DaVinci Resolve. Speed and efficiency in the software are non-negotiable.
  • Post-Production Fluency: Strong working knowledge of standard animation post-production workflows, including handling multiple layers of visuals (pre-vis, gray-scale passes, final renders) and conforming the edit to the final high-resolution source material.
  • Technical Specifications: Ability to manage project formats, aspect ratios, frame rates, and export specifications required for high-end theatrical distribution and international film festival submissions.
  • Dialogue & Temporary Sound: Exceptional skill in editing dialogue tracks for optimal rhythm and flow, and managing temporary (temp) music and sound effects to sell the edit until final assets are delivered.

Key Qualifications and Mindset (The Ambitious Professional)

We are only interested in serious candidates who view this project as their professional breakthrough.

  • Film School Pedigree: A recent degree or diploma in Film Editing, Mass Communication, or Cinema Studies from a respected institution. We seek candidates whose ambition is backed by formal, academic training.
  • Unwavering Eye for Detail: An acute awareness of minute timing discrepancies (1/24th of a second counts), continuity errors, and sound/picture sync issues. Your standards must be higher than the Director's.
  • Collaborative Ego: You must possess the confidence of a master editor but remain highly coachable and willing to execute the Director's vision, even when it challenges your instinct.
  • Demonstrated Pacing: Your portfolio (reel) must showcase bold, varied pacing, from high-energy action to nuanced, dramatic rhythm. Show us how you build tension and emotion through cuts.

Why This is Your Career-Defining Opportunity

This is the chance to earn world-class credits that will make your reel competitive on the global stage. We offer an opportunity to cut a film designed for international attention and festival buzz. While our budget is stringent, your dedication will be rewarded with an unrivaled professional credit that will instantly elevate your career beyond that of your peers.

Show us your best work, and let us give you your biggest break.
