Job Overview

Reel 9 Studio is hiring a 3D Modeler – Character Modeling with strong production experience in the animation industry. The role requires creating high-quality, animation-ready character models from concept through final delivery while meeting artistic and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Model and sculpt 3D characters based on provided concepts and references
• Create detailed character assets including anatomy, clothing, accessories, and facial features
• Develop clean, deformation-friendly topology suitable for rigging and animation
• Create optimized UVs and support texturing workflows
• Ensure models are animation-ready and follow studio pipeline standards
• Collaborate with rigging, animation, look-dev, and art teams
• Implement feedback and revisions efficiently
• Maintain visual consistency and quality across projects

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a 3D Modeller with a focus on character modeling
• Strong proficiency in ZBrush
• Experience with Maya / Blender or equivalent software
• Solid understanding of anatomy, proportions, and form
• Expertise in topology, UV mapping, and texturing basics
• Familiarity with PBR workflows
• Ability to deliver models optimized for animation and rendering
• Strong portfolio demonstrating character modelling work for animation

Preferred/Additional Skills

• Experience with facial topology and blendshape-ready models
• Knowledge of look development and shaders
• Basic understanding of rigging and animation needs
• Experience in an animation studio production pipeline
• Familiarity with Substance Painter / Mari
