3D Character Artist (Rigging & Modeling)

Caliac Studios is looking for a talented and dedicated individual to join our growing team. You will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D character models and developing robust, animation-ready rigs for use in our exciting projects.

✅ Requirements (Revised)

• Experience: Proven professional experience as a 3D Character Artist, Character Modeler, or Technical Rigger in the video game or animation industry.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional skill in both realistic/stylized character modeling and robust rigging/deformation.
• Software Proficiency (Must-Have): Expert knowledge of Autodesk Maya is essential for this role. Strong proficiency in rigging and modeling workflows within Maya is required.
• Familiarity with supplementary 3D and texturing tools (e.g., ZBrush, Substance Painter, Mari) is also highly valued.
• Anatomy: Excellent understanding of human and animal anatomy, form, and motion for accurate modeling and deformation.
• Problem-Solving: Strong technical and artistic problem-solving skills with an ability to anticipate animation needs.
• Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Bonus Skills (A Plus)

• Video Production Skills: Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and experience assembling raw footage into polished reels, trailers, or cinematic sequences.
• Motion Graphics: Experience creating motion graphics elements, text animations, and visual effects using software like Adobe After Effects.
• Experience with facial rigging systems (e.g., FACS)
• Familiarity with game engine pipelines (Unreal Engine or Unity).
• Experience with cloth/hair simulation setup.
