Why We Need You:

Hi there, we’re Article. We’re a North American online furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. As a 3D Modeler Contractor who has created 3D Models for hard goods, you will develop 3D models on a project-by-project basis.

Summary / Objective of Deliverables (expected results):

Delivery of fully approved, production-ready 3D assets following a 5-part sequential workflow. Vendor is responsible for meeting Article’s modeling, UV, texturing, and rendering standards to ensure final white background images and models are consistent, accurate, and ready to be added to our library.

Outline of Work Flow (If selected):

Part 1: 3D Model Generation — Rebuild SolidWorks files into 3ds Max (.max) quad-only model, clean geometry, correct pivots, and accurate to inputs.

Part 2: UV Mapping — Properly unwrapped, no distortion/overlap, consistent texel density.

Part 3: PBR Textures — Corona Physical Materials, correct shader naming, accurate to swatches, no tiling/repetition.

Part 4: White Background Images — 4000x4000px renders, pure white background, required angles, consistent scale and framing, natural shadow.

Part 5: (Final Approval): Fully approved assets ready for Article workflows.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

**Please note we work with 3Ds Max. You will need to be proficient in 3Ds Max to be selected as a contractor.

Rate & Terms:

Payment Basis: Pass/Fail Approval Workflow.

No subsequent stage may begin until the prior stage is approved.

All listed fees are in $ USD

Fee schedule by workflow:

OEM: $170 fixed price for any model, from a pillow to a complex leather sofa. This price includes modeling and AR.
ODM: $150 fixed price for any model, from a pillow to a complex leather sofa. This price includes modeling and AR.
Collection Extension: $90 fixed price, which includes model modification and AR.
SKU Extension: $0 for modeling, with a retexturing fee of $30, which includes AR.
Article provides 3Ds Max File: $0 for modeling, with a texturing fee of $40, which includes AR.
Rug created with geometry: $90 additional charge for modeling, which includes model modification and AR.

Additional Fees:

$10 for SketchUp files
$36 for line drawings
$30 When creating a substance texture from scratch
$20 for texturing a 3ds Max file in Substance

White Background and Top-View Image Fee Structure:

The Vendor agrees to provide white background and top-view images at a flat fee of $20 per image. However, for DIMS images (focused on dimensions and measurements), the fee shall be reduced to $10 per image.

For top-view images with one to three products in the scene, the fee will be $20 per image. For scenes containing more than three products, the fee will increase to $40 per image. This fee includes the production, delivery, and any necessary re-rendering to ensure accuracy to the product specifications.

Spinners: The cost for spinner assets is $120. They consist of: 72 white background images evenly spaced (one image every 5 degrees) for a full 360-degree rotation. The object rotates on a single axis horizontally. The camera should remain fixed, and the object should rotate to maintain a consistent perspective.

Tools / Technology Required: Own Desktop/Laptop and Software tools; 3ds Max, Corona Renderer, Substance Painter

Inputs Provided by Article: SolidWorks files (.SLDPRT / .SLDASM), CAD/scan data as OBJ, swatches, specifications.

Vendor Responsibility: Rendering capacity and software licenses.

Payment: You will invoice Article monthly (we pay net 30).
