3D Modeler + Web Integration Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled 3D artist and developer (or team) to help us create scientifically accurate, interactive 3D models for a series of STEM-focused digital learning modules. This role involves both 3D modeling and frontend integration using Three.js, Unity WebGL, or equivalent technologies.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands visual accuracy, performance optimization, and web-based interactivity — and can work under tight timelines in a collaborative, quality-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Create accurate 3D models of biological, chemical, or physical systems (e.g., human heart, neuron, molecule)
• Optimize models for real-time rendering (low-poly, GLB/GLTF or FBX exports)
• Develop and integrate interactive environments using Three.js or Unity WebGL
• Implement interactivity such as rotation, zoom, clickable parts, or animated processes
• Collaborate with subject matter experts for scientific accuracy
• Deliver SCORM/xAPI-compatible packages (optional, preferred)
• Ensure browser compatibility, performance, and responsive behavior
• Conduct internal testing and incorporate client feedback

Required Skills:

• 3D modeling in Blender, Maya, ZBrush, or equivalent
• Frontend integration using Three.js, WebGL, or Unity WebGL
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+)
• Ability to read and model from blueprints, sketches, or reference images
• Experience optimizing assets for web and LMS environments
• Strong understanding of scientific/educational visualization standards
• Familiarity with animation, rigging, and UI overlays

Project Details:

• Project Type: Freelance / Contract (with possibility for ongoing phases)
• Phase 1: 2–3 interactive 3D models with environment integration
• Duration: ~3 weeks (with tight delivery cycles)
• Location: Remote
• Start Date: Immediate
