3d Print Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative 3D Print Specialist to join our cutting-edge manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and optimizing 3D printing equipment to produce high-quality prototypes and functional parts. Your expertise will drive the development of complex models, ensuring precision and efficiency throughout the production process. Duties

  • Operate a variety of 3D printing machines, including Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Stereolithography (SLA), and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) systems, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Prepare digital models using graphic design and layout software, verifying file integrity and compatibility with printing hardware.
  • Conduct prepress tasks such as slicing models, setting print parameters, and managing color profiles for accurate color reproduction.
  • Perform routine maintenance on 3D printers to prevent downtime and troubleshoot mechanical or software issues swiftly.
  • Collaborate with design teams to refine models for manufacturability, incorporating feedback on typography, layout design, and material selection.
  • Implement quality control procedures by inspecting printed parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and structural integrity.
  • Manage inventory of printing materials like filaments, resins, and powders while adhering to safety standards in manufacturing environments.
  • Document print jobs, maintenance activities, and quality checks meticulously to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating various 3D printing technologies such as FDM, SLA, or SLS in a manufacturing or prototyping setting.
  • Strong knowledge of graphic design principles and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite for preparing digital files.
  • Familiarity with prepress processes including slicing software, color management techniques, and layout optimization.
  • Understanding of manufacturing workflows, CNC machining processes, and quality control standards in production environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues on 3D printers and perform basic repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to handling printing materials like resins or powders in a manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong skills in typography, layout design, and print advertising concepts is a plus.
  • Physical ability to handle materials and operate machinery safely; forklift certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
