3D Rigging Artist (Blender)

VR XPERT Animation Studio is currently looking for experienced 3D Rigging Artist to work on an International Series project.

VR XPERT is developing various international cartoon series and movie projects based on 2D & 3D animations for various TV and OTT platforms . Studio is looking for some experienced candidates in our 3D department.

We are seeking a skilled 3D Rigging Artist with expertise in Blender to create efficient, flexible, and user-friendly rigs for characters, creatures, and props. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of anatomy, deformation, and animation workflows, ensuring assets are production-ready for animators and rendering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement character, creature, and prop rigs in Blender.
  • Create intuitive and animator-friendly control rigs for facial and body animation.
  • Ensure proper skinning, weight painting, and deformation of assets.
  • Work closely with modelers and animators to maintain rig functionality and artistic intent.
  • Develop rigs optimized for both real-time engines (Unity, Unreal) and high-quality renders.
  • Troubleshoot rigging issues during production and provide technical support to animators.
  • Implement rigging best practices and maintain consistency across assets.
  • Explore and utilize Blender add-ons, constraints, and scripting (Python) to improve rigging efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience as a 3D Rigging Artist, with a portfolio/demo reel showcasing Blender rigging work.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, body mechanics, and deformation.
  • Proficiency in Blender’s rigging tools (Armature,Auto rig-pro Rigify, Drivers, Constraints, Shape Keys).
  • Solid knowledge of weight painting, skinning, and corrective blend shapes.
  • Ability to create both realistic and stylized rigs.
  • Familiarity with animation principles and animator needs.
  • Bonus: Experience with Python scripting in Blender, procedural rigging, or integration with game engines.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fresher, Contractual / Temporary, Freelance
Contract length: 3 months

Expected hours: 9 per week
