IDEAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, a 122-year-old, independent American manufacturer of high-power, specialty electric motors, generators, power systems and controls seeks an experienced candidate who is a highly organized self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment with the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve company goals while upholding a culture of ethics, integrity, and excellence in everything we do. This position is based in our facility in Mansfield, Ohio and plays a key role throughout our product lifecycle through design, supply, manufacture, and customer application for both manufactured products and aftermarket services.
OVERVIEW: The 3rd shift Superintendent is directly involved and performs manufacturing operations while leading and mentoring the production team. This role requires hands-on engagement with fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and inventory processes, while also managing staff performance and coordinating workflow. Based in Mansfield, Ohio, this full-time position reports to the Plant Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:-
Assess Operations activities, identify potential corrective actions, monitor corrective actions for effectiveness, and report findings to Plant Manager and Executive Management.
- Ensure adequate staffing for production needs; manage production/welding staff while maintaining good relations
- Provide training, support, direction, & guidance to Production Supervisors & subordinate personnel to assist with job skill development

Order production-related parts, tools, and supplies as needed
- Record production activities in ERP system as required
- Manage inventory control in ERP system

Perform production and maintenance services as needed
- Maintain environmental records for compliance with local, state, and federal agencies
- Support quality and safety initiatives; oversee housekeeping efforts in manufacturing areas
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES-
High School Diploma or certified equivalent, and/or education obtained through a tech school, college, or related courses

Five+ years working in a manufacturing environment & five+ years in manufacturing supervision and/or management role.

Experience working with customers and vendors in a B2B environment

This position often uses standard office equipment such as phones, computers, and copiers/printers.

Technical literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite, project management, and ERP systems

Basic knowledge of manufacturing maintenance is helpful
WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS-
Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40 hour minimum. Overtime is required, subject to production schedules and may vary based upon specific customer needs

Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights
