3rd Yr to Journeyman

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual transitioning from a 3rd Year Apprentice to a Journeyman Electrician. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your electrical expertise across diverse projects, including commercial, industrial, and renovation sites. You will work alongside experienced electricians, gaining hands-on experience with electrical systems, schematics, and construction processes. This position is paid and designed to elevate your skills while contributing to high-quality electrical installations and maintenance.

Duties

  • Assist in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems using hand tools and power tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to guide installation and maintenance work
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage equipment in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
  • Use testing instruments such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues accurately
  • Support construction site activities including framing carpentry, renovation projects, and general handyman tasks
  • Follow safety protocols related to electrical work, including working with low and high voltage systems safely
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure projects meet quality standards and deadlines

Qualifications

  • Currently in the final stages of a 3rd Year Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent experience working towards Journeyman status
  • Demonstrated industrial or commercial electrician experience with hands-on electrical installation and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings related to electrical systems
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment
  • Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects within the electrical trade
  • Knowledge of NEC regulations, low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and safety standards
  • Ability to read technical schematics and perform basic frame carpentry or handyman tasks as needed
