Position Overview
The Laboratory Phlebotomist is a key member of the health team. Responsible for blood drawing, perform all in-house laboratory tests, maintaining the laboratory environment as per NYS standards, and center operational activities such as technical assistance regarding agency clinical laboratory services and procedures, and customer service.

Qualifications
Education & Training
High school diploma or general education degree
Certificates,
Licenses, Registration
Preferred certification from the National Association Phlebotomy.
Experience
Minimum two years related experience

Skills & Abilities
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
Upholds confidentiality and professionalism in all communications in accordance with healthcare regulations
Reasoning & Problem-Solving Abilities
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Language & Literacy Skills
English and any other second language as reflects the community ideal but not mandatory. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
Mathematical & Analytical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide 10’s and 100’s.
Technical & Systems
Basic computer skills.
