5th Grade 6th Grade Special Ed Teacher - Overland Park, Kansas

Seeking a certified Special Education teacher to support a Life Skills program for 5th and 6th grade students in a middle school setting near Overland Park, KS. This contract position is aligned with the current school year schedule and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the education and development of a small caseload of students.

Key Qualifications Include

• Valid Special Education certification in Kansas (provisional or emergency certifications are not accepted)
• Experience working with middle school students, particularly in 5th or 6th grade
• Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement tailored instructional strategies
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Previous experience or interest in Life Skills instruction is highly beneficial
  
  

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of six students within the Life Skills program
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to ensure positive outcomes
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
