5th Grade Math and Science Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 5th Grade Math and Science Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching, with a focus on fostering a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This role involves developing and implementing lesson plans that align with curriculum standards while addressing the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in Math and Science that cater to various learning styles.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a safe and productive learning environment.
• Utilize learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and student interaction.
• Mentor students and provide individualized support to help them achieve their academic goals.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing and other evaluation methods, providing feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with special education staff to accommodate students with diverse learning needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
• Participate in curriculum development initiatives, ensuring alignment with educational standards.
• Foster literacy education through integrated reading and writing activities within Math and Science lessons.
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification preferred.
• Proven experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably at the elementary level.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively.
• Experience in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with Montessori methods or private school experience is a plus.
• Ability to develop lesson plans that incorporate literacy education alongside Math and Science content.
• Proficiency in tutoring techniques for individualized instruction as needed.
• Experience in proofreading educational materials for clarity and accuracy is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,220.00 - $64,974.00 per year
