Salary: Base Salary ranges from $62,700 to $104,700, commensurate with experience.

Eligibility for Florida certification is required. FL certification in Educational Media Specialist (grades PK-12) is a prerequisite for teaching in field. The Bureau of Educator Certification has developed instructional videos to guide applicants through the certification process, covering topics such as Florida's Online Educator Certification System Set-up and the Florida Teacher Certification Application. How to Become FL Certified in Educational Media Specialist (grades PK-12)

Out-of-State Certification: If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please apply for Florida reciprocity.
Media Specialist Major: Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include: Educational Media, Educational Media Technology, Instructional Media, Library Science (not Technology Education)
Other Majors: For other degree majors, pass the subject area exam in Educational Media Specialist PK12. This 2.5-hour computer-based test is 80 multiple choice questions. Locate a test center. Free sample questions are available here. If at first you don't succeed, you may retest every 30 days. The exam costs $150, unless you have an approved Military Vet or Spouse Certification Fee Waiver or Retired First Responder Fee Waiver. Scores are automatically reported to the FLDOE.
