7.5 tonne driver

Shannon Rail was established over 20 years ago, initially to provide the UK rail industry with self-contained mobile site access units and road haulage facilities. Since then the company has expanded to provide a range of ancillary support solutions to the sector. We don’t think of ourselves as a labour supply company, a transport company or a training/medical provider, we see ourselves as a Railway Business.

We currently have vacancies for 7.5 tonne drivers. Roles + Responsibilities will include :

• Being responsible for keeping the vehicle in clean condition and refuelled at all times .
• Successfully completing daily safety checks of the vehicle using an App.
• Ensuring full compliance with tachograph legislation for both digital and analogue equipped vehicles
• Complying with all relevant road traffic acts and regulations
• Complying with all health and safety requirements including use of PPE at all times
• Maintaining and promote a positive image of Shannon Rail
• Prioritising workload to ensure time commitments are met.
• Delivering the vehicle to site and carrying out Site Access duties.

CPC + Tacho card are essential for this role, for insurance purposes we cannot accept candidates with more than 6 points on their licence. (Ideally you will hold Cat D also although not compulsory.

Shifts can vary between 8 and 12 hours per shift. Your working week will be made up of day shifts and night shifts predominantly over the weekends so flexibility is key.

Shannon Rail takes seriously the health, safety and welfare of all its drivers. It recognises the risk to staff that need to carry out work related driving and is committed to the prevention of driving incidents as a result of fatigue. As such depending on the shift pattern, provision of lodgings may be arranged in advance to ensure the driver has an adequate rest period; therefore lodging away may be required for this role .

Payment is made via an Umbrella company. LTD can be considered.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
