7.5t Driver & Waste Collection Operative

Job Overview

We are recruiting a motivated and hardworking Waste Removal Operative (7.5t Driver/Labourer) to join our team. This is a hands-on, physical role involving waste collection across a variety of sites and industries. Work ranges from single-item domestic collections to large-scale site clearances, so no two days are the same. Customer interaction is an important part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as lead driver for waste collection jobs
• Assist other drivers on collections
• Lift and load different waste streams onto vehicles
• Unload and sort waste for recycling
• Dispose of waste at authorised facilities
• Conduct vehicle checks and cleaning
• Assist with vehicle movements as required

Required Skills & Experience

• Full UK driving licence (catagory C1 required)
• Applicants must be 23 or over (insurance requirement)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good customer service skills

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a similar industry
• Experience driving 7.5t vehicles

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Typical hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm
• Occasional overtime available on Saturdays at enhanced rates.

Additional Requirements

Licence/Certification (required):

• Category C1 licence (maximum 3 points preferred)
• In date CPC

Experience Preferred:

• 1 year driving a goods vehicle
