Position Overview
The 7th and 8th Grade Mathematics Teacher will design and deliver engaging instruction that strengthens foundational skills, promotes critical thinking, and prepares students for the rigor of high school algebra and geometry. This role includes facilitating problem-based learning, integrating technology, and fostering a classroom culture grounded in respect, curiosity, and collaboration.
Course Description
7th Grade Mathematics
Focuses on developing proportional reasoning, integer operations, rational numbers, expressions, and equations. Students also explore geometry, statistics, and probability through hands-on and digital activities that build conceptual understanding and fluency.
8th Grade Mathematics
Builds upon prior knowledge to prepare students for Algebra I, emphasizing linear equations, systems, exponents, functions, transformations, and the Pythagorean Theorem. Students represent relationships using tables, graphs, and equations while connecting algebraic and geometric thinking.
Across both grades, students engage in real-world applications, IXL practice, and collaborative learning to develop confidence and problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities
● Deliver engaging, standards-based math instruction aligned with Ohio Learning
Standards.
● Instill enthusiasm and confidence in mathematics through creative, hands-on learning
experiences.
● Create a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming, and inclusive.
● Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
● Monitor and assess student progress; provide regular feedback to students and parents.
● Collaborate with colleagues and administration to enhance curriculum and student
success.
● Participate in professional development opportunities to grow in instructional practice
and faith formation.
● Model Christian values and support the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
Qualifications
● Valid Ohio Teaching License in Mathematics or eligibility to obtain one.
● Professional Educator License (Required).
● Teaching Certification (Required).
● Strong understanding of middle school math content and pedagogy.
● Commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
● VIRTUS certification and BCI/FBI background check (required upon hire).

Compensation & Benefits
● Salary Range: $34,155 – $38,937 per year
