The School of Arts and Sciences, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) invites applications for
two full-time
positions
at the rank of
Associate or Full Professor in Educational Leadership,
beginning in August 2026. The successful candidate will provide academic and administrative leadership for the Master of Education in Educational Leadership program, one of AURAK’s graduate offerings. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of graduate education in the UAE by advancing excellence in teaching, research, and accreditation.
Responsibilities

Teach graduate courses in Educational Leadership and related fields.

Lead and mentor graduate students in research, thesis supervision, and professional development.

Oversee curriculum development, program review, and continuous enhancement of the M.Ed. program.

Play a central role in accreditation and quality assurance processes (CAEP, SACSCOC,QAA).

Maintain a strong and sustained research agenda with publications in high-impact outlets.

Contribute to securing external research funding and expanding research capacity.

Engage in university service through participation in committees and strategic initiatives.

Strengthen collaborations with schools, ministries, and regional education partners.
Required Qualifications
-
Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, Higher Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: educational leadership, management, policy, or organizational change.

A record of scholarship commensurate with appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (Scopus-indexed publications, external recognition, international
collaboration).

Demonstrated experience in leading graduate programs, including curriculum
development, student supervision, and program-level leadership.

Proven experience in accreditation and quality assurance processes, nationally and internationally.

Evidence of excellence in teaching, mentoring, and student engagement at the graduate level.

Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and within diverse academic environments.
Additional Desired Qualifications

Experience in universities following the American model of higher education.

A record of securing external research grants or clear potential to do so.

Leadership experience at the department, program, or institutional level.

Strong engagement with educational leadership practice in the Gulf/Arab region.
