Job Title: 8th Grade ELA Teacher

Location: Arts Campus, Jacksonville, FL

Job Type: Full-Time | 10-Month Contract

Salary: Starting at $52,500 (based on experience)

Global Leadership Academy is seeking a qualified and passionate 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher to provide standards-based instruction and support student achievement in literacy. The ideal candidate will create an engaging classroom environment, strengthen students’ reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills, and prepare them for success in high school and beyond.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities-

Deliver standards-aligned ELA instruction using Florida B.E.S.T. Standards

Develop and implement lesson plans that support reading comprehension, literary analysis, vocabulary development, and writing proficiency

Foster critical thinking, discussion, and evidence-based writing skills

Assess student progress and use data to inform instruction and interventions

Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs

Prepare students for state assessments and high school readiness

Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress

Collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, and school staff

Participate in professional development and school meetings

Minimum Qualifications-

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in English (6–12) or Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum (5–9)

Knowledge of literacy instruction and classroom management strategies

Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications-

3+ years of teaching experience

ESOL Endorsement

Reading Endorsement

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday

8-hour shift
