8th Grade Math and Algebra Teacher

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic 8th Grade Math and Algebra Teacher to inspire and educate students in a vibrant learning environment. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, covering topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and discrete math.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
  • Utilize innovative learning technology to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments; provide timely feedback.
  • Develop individualized learning plans and offer tutoring or mentoring to support diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and educational best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation; prepare reports for parents and administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; higher education teaching experience is preferred.
  • Proven classroom experience with middle school students, especially in teaching math subjects such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Strong knowledge of math concepts including calculus, differential equations, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, cell biology, and research laboratory experience is a plus for interdisciplinary integration.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively work with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Demonstrated ability in lesson planning, instructional design, research-based teaching methods, and standardized testing preparation.
  • Experience working with students with special education needs or behavior management challenges is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and library services to support instruction.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
