9 Dragons - Bartender

Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking skilled bartenders with 6 months+ experience to join our 9 Dragons team. This role includes providing exceptional bar service within the restaurant while supporting overall front-of-house operations as needed. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and maintain consistent punctuality. Night and weekend availability is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Depending on experience, the essential duties, responsibilities, points of service, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) outlined below may be taught and demonstrated during the Bartender training process.

  • Reports directly to the Restaurant Manager / Beverage Supervisor
  • Requires dependable and punctual attendance and flexibility with scheduled shifts
  • Requires working weekends, holidays, special events, and attending mandatory meetings
  • Interacts positively and effectively with guests and co-workers
  • Provides prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all guests
  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and presentation standards
  • Takes beverage and bar food orders and processes accurate POS transactions
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and stocking of the bar and service stations at all times
  • Verifies guest identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance
  • Makes beverage recommendations and answers guest inquiries regarding menu offerings
  • Assists servers with beverage service and drink preparation for restaurant guests
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits offered at 9 Dragons
  • Adheres to all Company Policies and Departmental SOPs
  • Keeps work area in compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Assists with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–6 months of experience in a bar or restaurant environment preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of standard drink recipes, bar equipment, and beverage service.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education & Age Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, see, and hear.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Work environment is fast-paced, with noise and occasional exposure to smoke.
  • Shifts may vary according to restaurant business needs.
  • The Bartender is responsible for creating a friendly and professional atmosphere for both Guests and Employees while preparing cocktails and other beverages for our Guests as well as performing other duties as described below.
