Salary Range: $35,776.00-$47,737.04

Do you want to get into Public Safety and help your community? Washington County Central Dispatch 9-1-1 is accepting applications for full-time emergency dispatchers.
Responsibilities and expectations include, but are not limited to:
- Have HS diploma or GED.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to work at least 40 hours weekly.
- Be able to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Type at least 30-35 wpm.
- Work efficiently with Windows OS and Microsoft Office programs like Excel and Word.
- Pass drug screening.
- Pass a criminal background check and not be convicted of any felony.
- Be able to handle high-pressure situations and remain calm under stress.
- Be able to multitask and manage multiple emergency calls at the same time.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Have strong attention to detail and be able to accurately document information.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times when interacting with the public, emergency personnel, and other colleagues.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Receive and process emergency calls, including 9-1-1 calls, non-emergency calls, and calls from other agencies.
- Obtain relevant information from callers, such as the location of the emergency, the nature of the emergency, circumstances surrounding the emergency, and the contact information of the caller.
- Dispatch emergency services, such as police, fire, and ambulance, to the appropriate location.
- Communicate important information to emergency personnel, such as the nature of the emergency, the location, and any other relevant details via radio.
- Maintain contact with emergency services to ensure that appropriate assistance is provided to the caller.
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to the caller, such as CPR or other first aid instructions, when necessary.
