Role Description
The A1 Aircraft Mechanic assists certifying engineers in performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft systems under supervision. They ensure all tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with CAR-145 & CAR-147 regulations, manufacturer manuals, and organizational procedures, supporting the overall airworthiness and reliability of the aircraft.
Qualifications
- Perform repairs on damaged aircraft and conduct regular inspections of electronic, structural, mechanical, and avionics systems.
- Diagnose technical issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist B1/B2 engineers in maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and certification tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks under supervision, ensuring adherence to organisational procedures, safety protocols, and manufacturer manuals.
- Use special equipment to verify that aircraft systems are in proper working order.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs, and components replaced.
- Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with CAR-145 & CAR-147 and other requirements of civil aviation authority regulations, manufacturer manuals, and company procedures.
- Participate in practical training and continuation programs to develop and maintain technical competence.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety, quality, and maintenance efficiency.
- Willingness to travel within the UAE and internationally as required.
Requirements
- Valid A1 Aircraft Maintenance License (or equivalent EASA Part-66 License accepted by GCAA).
- CAR-147 approved training in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering – preferred.
- Minimum 3*-5 years of certifying experience*
- Possess at least one type rating for one of the following aircraft: A330, A320, B737NG/MAX, B777, B787.
- In-depth knowledge of CAR-145 and CAR-147 regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, and powerplant systems, components, MEL, and independent checks.
- EASA or FAA A&P Licence – an advantage.
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- Immediate joiners preferred.
- Excellent English communication skills (read, write, speak)
