Attorneys appear in court several times a week and must be able to manage a high volume of cases during each call and conduct formal evidentiary hearings when an agreement is not reached. Attorneys also must prepare pleadings and responses to motions, and research legal issues.

Qualifications

Excellent litigation and negotiation skills are a must. The position also requires superior interpersonal skills as attorneys must maintain good working relationships with court officials and agency staff, as well as interact with the families needing child support enforcement services.

The position requires extensive travel to various counties in southern Illinois.

Candidates must be licensed in Illinois at the time of application.
