A/B Level Diesel Shop Mechanic (Trucks, Trailers, & Equipment) | M–F Schedule | $18 –$30/hr

Geologic Exploration is a growing environmental drilling contractor that relies on a diverse fleet of diesel trucks, trailers, and specialized drilling equipment to support field operations. What You'll Do

As our Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of trucks, trailers, and jobsite equipment.

Truck Maintenance & Repair

• Perform Federal DOT inspections on trucks and trailers
• Diagnose and repair components
• A/C systems
• Drive train systems
• Engine/transmission
• Air suspension/brakes
• Conduct preventative maintenance
• Verify repairs by conducting test drives
• All other necessary maintenance and repairs assigned

Trailer Maintenance

• Maintain electrical systems (lights, brakes, grounding, pigtails)
• Inspect and service wheel hubs and bearings
• Inspect and repair suspension components (bolts, shackles, equalizers)
• Inspect and repair trailer decking
• Perform light welding or fabrication as needed

Equipment & Small Engine Maintenance

• Service and repair:
• Trash pumps
• Generators
• Grouter engines
• Pressure washers
• Chainsaws and chop saws
• Hydraulic systems
• Electric-over-hydraulic equipment

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform emergency field repairs when equipment breaks down
• Keep the shop organized, safe, and efficient

Required Experience

• 2–5 years of mechanical experience
• Strong experience with diesel engines, gasoline engines, and hydraulic systems
• Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical systems
• Comfortable using diagnostic equipment and power tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required
• CDL preferred (or ability to obtain)
• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical & Work Environment

This role involves hands-on mechanical work in both shop and field environments.

You should be comfortable with:

• Standing for long periods
• Lifting 40+ pounds
• Bending, kneeling, crawling, and working overhead
• Working on equipment while lying underneath vehicles
• Working in a dusty shop environment that is heated but not air-conditioned
• Performing occasional roadside or jobsite repairs in outdoor conditions

Steel-toed boots are required.

Tools & Equipment

• Company provides shop equipment and specialty tools
• Mechanics typically provide their own hand tools

Pay & Benefits

• $18.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
