Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Center-based sessions only, no travel or in-home services.

Compensation: Starting at $20.00 per hour and up, depending on education and experience.

About THE JOB

We are looking for qualified candidates to work in a center-based setting. You will work in our center under the supervision of a BCBA to implement programs that build social, communication, play, and self-help skills. You’ll work with kids and spend your day doing meaningful work. As a Behavior Technician, you will help kids with autism learn and grow!

In addition to the opportunity to do wonders and change the lives of children, you will receive clear feedback and have an opportunity to grow and build a career with support from our dedicated leadership team. Positions are open for entry-level careers that involve helping children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a range of conditions that can affect a child’s ability to socialize, play, and communicate. Opportunities are also open for experienced, caring technicians/RBAIs/RBTs dedicated to providing the highest standard of care.

Backed by the support and supervision of our awesome staff, you will gain training and skills to support a career in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, counseling, mental health, and parenting.

POSITION: ABA Technician/ Registered Behavior Analysis Interventionist (RBAI)

The ABA Technician/RBAI is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA and is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services and plans as written by the BCBA.

Essential Responsibilities under the supervision of the Behavior Analyst

Work collaboratively with our team to deliver applied behavior analysis (ABA), a therapy that uses play-based activities to help kids build skills.
Provide direct therapy to children with autism utilizing prescribed teaching and natural environment training.
Work with kids (18 months to school age) with autism and special needs in our center.
Implement treatment plans with multiple targets: joint attention, engagement, expressive and receptive communication, imitation, fine and gross motor development, independent and peer play, social skills, behavior, and cognition.
Deliver personalized, professional, evidence-based behavioral and developmental services to each child, and peace of mind to caregivers that their loved ones are in the right hands.
Collaborate with families in the implementation of behavior support strategies and assist in providing training and oversight of the support plan to families.
Manage and provide training for basic life skills, including supporting basic hygiene and nutrition needs.
Create lasting, positive change for children and their families.

An interest in personal learning and development; seek feedback from multiple sources about how to improve and develop; modify behavior based on feedback or self-analysis of past mistakes.
Anticipate changes in work demands and participate in assignments or training that address these changing demands; treat unexpected circumstances as opportunities to learn.
Work a consistent weekly schedule Monday through Friday, including both morning and afternoon sessions.

Qualifications, Requirements, and/or Experience

HS diploma or equivalent
US work authorization
Ability to pass a Criminal History Background Check (CHBC)
Minimum of one year of experience working with children. Various previous experiences may be considered - babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, family relationships, or other forms of childcare.
RBAI or RBT License in good standing, or proof of completion of an approved 40-hour professional training course within the previous five years. Following offer acceptance, Westside can provide pre-hire access to an approved course if needed.

Bonus/preferred qualifications, but not required:

Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with special needs children
Experience working in early childhood education

Environment:

Center-based setting only. No in-home services, no travel.
Compliance with all safety practices and procedures.
Ability to walk, run, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, sit on furniture or the floor, or stand for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
