Abacus teacher

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Abacus Teacher to join our institution and help students develop strong mental arithmetic skills. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of abacus techniques, a passion for teaching children, and the ability to deliver engaging, structured lessons.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach abacus and mental math techniques to students of various age groups (typically 5–14 years).
• Conduct interactive, activity-based classroom or online sessions.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and practice worksheets.
• Monitor student progress and provide individual support where needed.
• Conduct assessments, competitions, and regular performance evaluations.
• Maintain a positive, motivating learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance and attendance.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and curriculum development when required.
• Ensure discipline, safety, and smooth functioning of each class.

Requirements

• Prior experience teaching Abacus or mental math (preferred).
• Certification from a recognized Abacus training program (optional but desirable).
• Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
• Ability to teach children with patience, clarity, and enthusiasm.
• Basic computer skills (for online classes).
• Fluency in [English / Local Language].
