Purpose and Scope of the Job
Install, maintain, troubleshoot and carry out repair and routine maintenance duties on HVAC equipment in the building facilities and Coordinate efforts with company’s contracted vendors to ensure company HVAC systems are functioning perfectly Perform inspection, maintenance, repairs, and installation of air conditioning systems, including DDC/BMS building control, cooling systems, refrigerators, ice machine, refrigerated water coolers and similar equipment. Carry out maintenance checks on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards
- Installs, monitors performance and maintains various HVAC, laundry and kitchen related equipment (e.g. Chillers, Air handling units, fan coil units, refrigeration systems, split AC units, package and split ducted AC units etc.,) for hazards, adjustments or replacement.
- Interprets plans, sketches, wiring diagrams, and specifications or verbal instructions.
- Reading repair manuals and liaising with other professionals.
- Running tests and interpreting results to make effective recommendations.
- Writing up reports, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance plans.
- Keeping abreast of advancements in your field and attending workshops as required.
- Senior technicians may work with his assistant and other maintenance workers such as Carpenter, Plumber, or Painter to complete an assigned task.
- Requisitions material and maintains stock.
- Supervises compliance with standards of safety.
- Periodically checks all the HVAC, kitchen and laundry equipment for preventive maintenance.
- Need to perform kitchen exhaust Ecology unit Preventive maintenance as per planned schedule.
- Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
- Provides or promotes people’s centered care.
- Will have to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Competences and Skills:
Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Diploma Certificate
Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Thorough knowledge of electromechanical equipment in generals such as pumps, controls, compressors, knowledge of communications and alarm systems desirable
Language: Proficiency in Arabic and English Languages.
Computer Proficiency: Good Computer Skills
Performance Competencies:
- Interpret plans, sketches, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Able to use standard HVAC and refrigeration hand tools, special tools and shop equipment
- Able to plan sequence of work and coordinate the work with other specialists.
- Calculate required size for conduit in electrical installation, thread, bend and install conduit.
- Able to replace circuit components (instrument meters, surge protectors, relays, control switches).
- Able to troubleshoot motors, motor control circuits, exhaust fans, compressor
- Read and understand work-related materials. Understand new information or materials by studying and working with them.
