Job Description – AC Technician

Location: Remote Site, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Department: Maintenance / Engineering
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Camp Manager

Job Purpose

The AC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems within company facilities, including accommodation camps, kitchens, dining halls, offices, stores, and other operational areas. The role ensures uninterrupted operation of HVAC equipment to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for employees and clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive Maintenance

• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
• Clean and service air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), split AC units, package units, and exhaust systems.
• Inspect and replace filters, belts, motors, thermostats, and other HVAC components as required.
• Maintain maintenance schedules and service records.

Corrective Maintenance

• Diagnose and repair faults in HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
• Repair or replace defective components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, relays, contactors, and capacitors.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.

Refrigeration Systems

• Maintain refrigeration equipment used in catering operations, including cold rooms, chillers, freezers, and refrigerators.
• Monitor temperature performance and ensure equipment operates within required standards.
• Detect and repair refrigerant leaks in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of refrigerants, tools, and equipment.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report hazards, incidents, and equipment defects promptly.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service reports.
• Record spare parts usage and notify supervisors of inventory requirements.
• Assist in preparing reports on equipment condition and maintenance activities.

General Duties

• Support other maintenance activities as directed by the supervisor.
• Coordinate with catering, accommodation, and facility teams to minimize operational disruptions.
• Participate in emergency maintenance activities when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and work areas.

Qualifications

• Diploma, ITI, Trade Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• HVAC certification or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an AC Technician.
• Experience in industrial camps, catering facilities, hospitality, facilities management, or remote site operations preferred.
• Experience working with cold rooms, refrigeration systems, and commercial kitchen equipment is an advantage.

Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
